Caring for Your Paperwhite Narcissus
Article written by: Eagle Crest Staff

One of the easiest bulbs to force for ornamental fragrant displays in the home. They are a type of daffodil that can be forced without a chilling period. Paperwhites only bloom once.
To force bulbs in soil, place in a shallow container with 1-2″ of potting soil. Position bulbs so they are nearly touching each other, pointed end up. Top with a bit more soil so that only the top half of the bulbs are exposed. Water well.
Paperwhites can also be forced in shallow decorative containers with pebbles and water, or in water alone.
Place potted bulbs in a cool location, 45-55° F, with little or no light which mimics being planted outside, in the ground. When shoots are 1-2″ tall, move pots to warmer location with indirect light.
